We have only jsut got it out of the box but our initial comments…”ADJUSTABILITY” This bike is so easy to change bar height, length, pads, stem you name it and it can be adjusted!! The bike is absolutely stunning!

Very quickly it seems we have developed into a popular destination store and very recently our Specialized Concept Store was born.

With everything happening so fast, business and other work commitments it could be very easy to ‘drift away’ or make excuses for not racing. Our passion and love for cycling never dwindled but it was time to reignite the passion of racing….

Team Bike Central- Specialized 2012 was born

Our Goals are simple:

• Develop and encourage junior cyclists and support the more ‘mature’ motivated competitive cyclist in our team.
• Develop strong relationships with sponsors who share the same values and goals as we do.
• Develop a cycling team that promotes our sponsors and our healthy lifestyle and passion for cycling.
• Compete in events at a State and National level and promote the sport of cycling.
• Provide the best equipment possible to our riders, mechanical support and new training opportunities.

This Team is in its infancy, and will grow over time. We have big plans but it will take time to develop and grow. We are keen to talk with riders keen to join this new team as well as sponsors keen to support our venture.

Over the next few weeks plans are in place for Team equipment and infrastructure. Riders will be supplied with premium clothing, we need to source an equipment trailer, design clothing and iron out the finer points.

Riding the brand-new Shiv, Crowie improves his bike split by a whopping 13 minutes.

KONA, Hawaii (October 8, 2011)—Thirteen minutes and 14 seconds. That is the gigantic difference by which Craig “Crowie” Alexander improved his bike split over previous years at the Ironman World Championships, which he won for the third time Saturday with a new course record of 8:03:56.

Crowie rode the new Specialized Shiv, a bike designed from the ground up exclusively for triathlon. As befits a three-discipline sport, the Shiv features three advantages over other bikes: unmatched aerodynamics, an integrated hydration solution and extensive options to ensure the perfect fit.

For Crowie, the math was simple. Aero + fuel + fit = 13 minutes.

“That bike is a rocket ship,” Crowie said of the Shiv. “A total rocket ship.”

At the 2011 Ford Ironman World Championships, Crowie emerged from the water with the lead group. Over the 112-mile course along the coast, Crowie crushed it on his Shiv.

Crowie came in fourth off the bike, with a time of 4:24:05. In years past, his best bike times were 4:37:19 and 4:37:33.

Crowie left the transition in third, behind Chris Lieto and Luke McKenzie. Still fresh from his time on the bike, Crowie blew through the two leaders on the run and never looked back.

He secured his third Kona title with a time of 8:03:56, smashing a course record that had stood since 1996.

“Crowie is one of the most consistent athletes here,” said Mark Cote, Specialized’s Road Product Manager and Aerodynamicist from MIT. “His bike times have always been between 4:37 and 4:39. So to have a 13-minute improvement because of the changes we made… it makes me believe in science.”

Made for Triathletes, not a scaled up UCI legal bike this thing breaks all the rules and is seriously FAST!
